Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, who made her Telugu debut with Jr NTR in Koratala Siva’s Devara, has signed another two films in the South Indian industry. Her father and producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that she will be seen in a second Telugu opposite Ram Charan in a film directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who rose to fame with Uppena and a Tamil film with Suriya.
Boney Kapoor confirms Janhavi’s South projects
Boney Kapoor revealed this news in an interview with iDream Media, where he also praised the two Telugu stars for their work. He said, “My daughter has already shot for a film with Jr NTR. She’s loving every bit of the day she spends on sets here. Soon, she will start a film with Ram Charan too. These two boys are doing very well. She has been watching a lot of Telugu films and she feels blessed to work with them. Hopefully, the films will work, and she will get more work. She will also act with Suriya soon.”
Boney Kapoor on late wife, Sridevi and his connection with Hyderabad
Boney also spoke fondly of his late wife, Sridevi, who acted in multiple languages, saying, “My wife (Sridevi) acted in multiple languages, I hope my daughter does the same.” He shared his regret about not buying a house in Hyderabad for her, a city where they shot many films and enjoyed the local cuisine.
He asserted, “I’ve shot 12 of my films in Hyderabad, back then it was a growing city. When I came back after a few years, the whole city had changed. I used to drive myself around, now I need someone local to guide me. I wanted to buy a house in Hyderabad for my wife because she worked a lot here. I remember we used to relish a lot of Andhra khaana (food) whenever we were here. Now, I don’t have the heart to.”
Janhvi Kapoor on working with Jr NTR in Devara
This film ‘Devara‘ marks Janhvi’s first non-Hindi film. Recently, Janhvi attended a session at the Agenda AajTak 2023, where she was asked about wanting to work with Jr NTR. “This story is also related to mumma. She and Jr. NTR sir’s grandfather did a lot of movies together and they were quite an iconic pair and mumma would tell a lot of stories working with him. So I was very excited , I felt my life is a full circle now. So, yeah I was very excited and it feels good,” she shared.

Janhvi Kapoor, who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak in 2018, has been experimenting with different genres and languages in her career. She has Mr and Mrs Mahi and Ulajh slated for release in her kitty, apart from the Telugu and Tamil projects.
Ram Charan’s upcoming projects
Ram Charan, on the other hand, has seen tremendous success with magnum opus RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli. He also produced his father Chiranjeevi’s film Acharya, in which he had a cameo role. Buchi Babu Sana, who made his directorial debut with Uppena, has reportedly impressed Ram Charan with his script and narration. The film is expected to go on floors soon.
