Shah Rukh Khan‘s blockbuster film Jawan is landing in theatres in Japan on November 29 this year, almost a year after its global debut. Directed by Atlee and distributed by Twin, known for bringing Indian cinema to Japan, Jawan is making waves as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.
While we already knew about the release, SRK has now raised the excitement by sharing an update with a fiery new poster.

Shah Rukh Khan took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the exciting news. In his post, he teased, “Ek kahani justice ki…vengeance ki…villain aur hero ki… Ek kahani Jawan ki… Aa rahi hai Japan ke theatres mein pehli baar!!! Toh ab reh gaya bas ek sawaal- Ready-ah?”

The newly released poster showcases Khan’s bald look, with Nayanthara aiming a gun, the Jawan girl gang, and villain Vijay Sethupathi. It teases the thrilling and intense experience Japanese audiences are set to enjoy.
Advance Booking For The Film Started 5 Months Before Its Release
Advance ticket sales in Japan kicked off on July 5, a full five months before the film’s release. Those who snap up their tickets early will receive exclusive posters of Shah Rukh Khan from the song “Chaleya”. Jawan is currently the second highest-grossing Bollywood film overseas, raking in USD 47.60 million.
It’s trailing slightly behind Pathaan, which earned USD 47.85 million, largely due to Pathaan‘s impressive JPY 45 million earnings in Japan. With this release, Jawan aims to overtake Pathaan in Japan and boost its international box office figures.
Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role. The film also features Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover in supporting roles.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Work Front
Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, will next star in King. Produced by Siddharth Anand and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, King will see Khan playing a don.
Abhishek Bachchan is set to star as the villain, with the film expected to begin production next year. SRK’s daughter, Suhana Khan will also star in this film.
Recently, Khan made headlines at the IIFA 2024 press event with his new short haircut, further adding to the buzz surrounding his upcoming projects.
