Director Vasan Bala has been feeling the heat lately. His upcoming film, Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt, has everyone buzzing with excitement. But behind the scenes, things took an interesting turn.
Bala revealed that he wasn’t keen on Karan Johar sending the script to Alia just yet. But, why? He believed the first draft wasn’t ready for her eyes.
Vasan Bala Reveals His Reaction When Karan Johar Sent Jigra Script To Alia Bhatt
In a recent chat with Tried & Refused Productions, Bala opened up about the film’s journey. He explained that Karan Johar was keen on collaborating after their success with Monica O My Darling. So, Vasan sent Karan a rough draft, but he had no clue KJo would forward it to Alia.
“I had written a very kachha pakka email, stream of consciousness thoughts… sent it to Karan, and 6-7 hours later, he called saying that I have already sent it to Alia, and I was really not happy with it,” Vasan shared.
His concern was valid; he felt he should have refined the script before it reached Alia.
Bala expressed his frustration, saying, “I was like I would have at least done some spell check, grammar check, hygiene, written some very nice hero entry.”
He couldn’t believe the draft was sent out in its raw form. When he questioned Karan about it, the producer shrugged it off, saying, “No, no this is how it works.” Karan reassured him they would meet in a couple of days to discuss it further.
