Kajol had everyone in splits at the trailer launch of Do Patti in Mumbai when she jokingly crowned herself the “Asli Singham.”
The actress was in a playful mood as she compared herself to her husband, Ajay Devgn, known for his iconic role as Singham.
Here’s What Kajol Said
“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again—I’m the real Singham,” Kajol quipped, referring to her upcoming cop role in Do Patti.
Her humour didn’t stop there, as she added that she didn’t need any tips from Ajay to play a cop, confidently stating that she had it covered all by herself.
“Dekhiye yeh maine phle bhi kaha hai har stage pe kaha hai ki asli singham (main hoon)…also I did not take any tips from him,” she said.
The actress further opened up about the experience of wearing a cop uniform on screen. “There’s a certain stature you feel when you wear a uniform on set. Even though you’re aware it’s just a role, something about the uniform changes your posture, your attitude. It brings out this ‘kadakness’ (toughness) in you that’s hard to describe. I truly enjoyed playing a cop and I’d love to do it again,” she explained.
About Kajol’s Netflix Film Do Patti
Do Patti, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, is set to release on Netflix on October 25 and stars Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh alongside Kajol. Kriti, who also serves as a producer on the film, will be seen playing a double role, a challenge she’s clearly embraced.
In a press statement, she shared her excitement about the project. “Do Patti is incredibly special to me, not just because it’s my first film as a producer but also because I got to explore my own duality on-screen. This project is like my baby, something Kanika and I have nurtured from the start as producers, and to see it come to life with Netflix is beyond fulfilling.”
Kriti also revealed why this project holds a deeper meaning for her. “The film has a strong message woven into it, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to produce Do Patti. I’m really looking forward to how the audience reacts to it,” she added.
