Director Nag Ashwin‘s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has made waves at the box office worldwide, setting new records upon its release. However, its weekdays have seen a decline in earnings following a stellar second weekend.
Featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, the film now faces uncertainties about reaching the Rs 1000 crore mark in India. The film showed resilience in single-screen cinemas despite some regions experiencing a drop in collections during weekdays. However, it faced significant declines starting from the second Monday after enjoying a strong initial run.
Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Shows Min Rise On Day 15
Kalki 2898 AD achieved a remarkable feat by surpassing Rs 200 crore within just 11 days of its release, highlighting its blockbuster status. Yet, adverse weather conditions, particularly heavy rains, impacted its performance on the crucial second Monday.
On Day 12, the film saw a substantial decline of over 69.32%, earning Rs 6.75 crore, bringing its total to Rs 219.25 crore over 12 days. The trend continued with earnings of Rs 5.15 crore on the thirteenth day (second Tuesday), pushing its cumulative total to Rs 224.40 crore nett in Hindi. By the 14th day, it earned Rs 4.30 crore, accumulating a total of Rs 228.70 crore nett in Hindi.
Surprisingly, it showed a minimal rise on Day 15 as it entered its third week with a collection of Rs 4.50 crore net in Hindi, a little more than its previous day’s collection. It now has a total earning of Rs 233.20 crore net in Hindi within fifteen days. The collections might witness further rise this weekend and it is expected to cross Rs 250 crore soon.
