Kannappa: Akshay Kumar Holds Trishul & Damru As Lord Shiva In His FIRST Look From Vishnu Manchu Starrer, Release Set For April 25

Akshay Kumar unveils his powerful first look as Lord Shiva in Kannappa, donning a white dhoti with a trishul and damru.

Akshay Kumar has revealed his first look as Lord Shiva in the upcoming film Kannappa. The actor shared the poster on Monday to offer fans a sneak peek of his portrayal of the powerful Hindu deity.

In the poster, Akshay is seen wearing a white dhoti, holding a trishul (trident) and a damru (small hand drum), capturing the essence of Lord Shiva. His portrayal also includes the blue throat that symbolises Shiva drinking poison to protect the world. The poster reflects strength and devotion, truly embodying the character.

This will be Akshay’s second time playing Lord Shiva, after his role in Oh My God 2 with Pankaj Tripathi. In Kannappa, he takes on a more complex and devotional role, promising to bring a deeper connection with the character. The poster includes a quote that reads, “The supreme lord who rules over the three worlds surrenders himself to pure devotion,” setting the tone for the film.

Akshay shared the poster on social media and wrote, “Stepping into the sacred aura of Mahadev for #Kannappa. Honoured to bring this epic tale to life. May Lord Shiva guide us on this divine journey. Om Namah Shivaya!” 

More About The Film

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa also stars Vishnu Manchu in the title role as Kannappa (a devoted follower of Lord Shiva). The film is based on the legendary story of Kannappa and his devotion. Along with Akshay Kumar, the film features stars like Malayalam actor Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, R Sarathkumar, Preity Mukundan, Arput Ranka, Kaushal Manda, and Devaraj in important roles.

The film is produced by Vishnu Manchu’s father, Mohan Babu, and is being made on a large budget. It will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. You can look forward to the epic journey when the film releases on April 25, 2025.
