Karan Johar praised Shah Rukh Khan's fashion in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, calling it 'still fashion-relevant' while sharing a funny behind-the-scenes moment.

Karan Johar often shares memorable moments from his iconic films, and this time he turned the spotlight on Shah Rukh Khan‘s role in the cult classic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).

The film, which also starred Kajol and Rani Mukerji, continues to be a fan favourite for its timeless music, catchy dialogues, and vibrant costumes, even though it had some plot flaws. Shah Rukh Khan, who played the cool and stylish college heartthrob Rahul Khanna, wore some unforgettable outfits that remain fashion-relevant today.

Karan Johar Recalls BTS Moments From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Recently, Karan Johar took to Instagram to share an old clip of SRK from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, along with a detailed caption reflecting on the film’s style and some behind-the-scenes moments.

In the clip, Shah Rukh Khan talks about his most embarrassing moment during the shoot.

Referring to the character’s youthful look, he admits: “The most embarrassing moment is the costumes that I have to wear when I am playing the young guy. Mujhe lagta hai meri jeans zyada tight hai, T-shirt zyada tight hai (I feel that my jeans and T-shirt are too tight), and I am supposed to play the college stud in my youth. I have to say, walk, and talk, and do certain things which I am embarrassed to…”

Karan, who directed the film, also shared a humorous anecdote related to the film’s iconic basketball scene. In his post caption, he wrote about how he mistakenly kept calling it “a goal” while filming, until Shah Rukh pulled him aside and corrected him. “Bhai took me aside and whispered, ‘It’s a basket,’ and I looked around for one till the penny dropped,” Karan added, throwing in a dash of 90s nostalgia with hashtags like #memories and #the90s.

The director also complimented Shah Rukh’s fashion choices in the film, noting how some of the looks are still relevant today, despite being from the late 90s. “So much of what @iamsrk wore in KKHH is still so fashion-relevant even today! The belt bag, the oversized hoodies, the graffiti jeans, and many more,” Karan wrote.

However, he playfully added that the Lycra tight tees, which Shah Rukh wore with “main fashioncore energy,” are a definite no-no today, and even back then, SRK was uncomfortable in them.

The post has brought a wave of nostalgia for fans who continue to love Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
