Shah Rukh Khan is set to begin shooting King next year. The first draft of dialogues is finished as revealed by Abbas Tyrewala.

Shah Rukh Khan fans finally have another update on his next! Abbas Tyrewala, who wrote the dialogues for Pathaan, shared some major news about the much-awaited sequels Pathaan 2 and King. In a chat on Cyrus Broacha’s podcast Cyrus Says, Tyrewala revealed exciting details about SRK’s upcoming projects.

Abbas Tyrewala Shares Update On Pathaan 2 & King

First, Tyrewala confirmed that the script for Pathaan 2 is nearly finished. The writer expressed his hope to be considered for directing the sequel. He confirmed that it’s happening, putting to rest any doubts about the follow-up to the 2023 action blockbuster that reignited SRK’s reign in Bollywood. 

Another exciting tidbit Tyrewala shared was regarding King, Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Tyrewala revealed that he just completed writing the first draft of the dialogues for King, which promises to be a high-stakes, adrenaline-packed adventure. 


But the conversation didn’t just stop with these updates. Tyrewala also dropped a surprising fact about one of Bollywood’s beloved classics, Munna Bhai MBBS

Shah Rukh Khan Was Initially Signed For Sanjay Dutt’s Munna Bhai 

He revealed that Shah Rukh Khan was originally signed to play Munna before Sanjay Dutt took over the role, which later revived Dutt’s career. Tyrewala added that when SRK was attached to the project, the iconic character Circuit was named Khujli and was supposed to be played by Makrand Deshpande.

However, once Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi came on board, Circuit’s character evolved, with Warsi suggesting the name Circuit due to his character’s quick temper as if he had a “short circuit” in his brain.

SRK’s King Goes On Floors Next Year

King is set to start shooting in early 2025, which is a special one, as it will see SRK sharing screen space with his daughter, Suhana Khan, in a significant role. Fans can’t wait to witness the chemistry between the father-daughter duo on screen. The film is expected to be shot in some unexplored European locations, adding to the visual treat.

Shah Rukh Khan will play a rugged don in King. Joining him will be Abhishek Bachchan, who is set to play the villain, and Abhay Verma. The film promises to deliver a mix of thrilling action and emotions, with Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand backing the production. With this powerful ensemble cast, King is expected to be a big blockbuster.
