Karan Johar Wins National Award For 3rd Time With Brahmastra, Dedicates It To Ayan Mukerji & Team In A Heartfelt Post

Karan Johar has won his third National Award for Brahmastra, dedicating it to Ayan Mukerji and the entire team.

Karan Johar has added another milestone to his successful career by winning his third National Award at the 70th National Film Awards.

This time, his blockbuster Brahmastra took home the Best Film award in the AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic) category. He and director Ayan Mukerji proudly accepted the honour at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan on Tuesday evening.

After the event, Karan shared his excitement on social media.

He posted a series of photos from the ceremony, including one where he and Mukerji are seen smiling while holding their awards.

In the caption, Karan reflected on the moment, writing, “Every time I step onto this stage, it’s always a different feeling of magic. But there’s one feeling that always remains – gratitude.”

Karan, who had previously won National Awards for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Shershaah, shared how special this win was. “This is the third time for me on stage, and the magnanimity of it all is not lost on me,” he wrote.

The ceremony was even more memorable as it coincided with the 44th anniversary of Dharma Productions, the film studio founded by his father.

In his heartfelt message, Karan also expressed his deep appreciation for Ayan Mukerji and the Brahmastra team. “Here’s to #Brahmastra being etched in history. To the team, who made the magic happen – thank you!” he wrote as he celebrated the film’s success and the hard work of everyone involved.

Before receiving the award, Karan shared his excitement in an interview with ANI. He said, “We are very excited that Brahmastra is getting so many honours and awards. We are here to receive it very humbly. We are very proud. Indian cinema has a very big role on the global map of cinema.”

About Brahmastra

For those unfamiliar with Brahmastra (Part One: Shiva), it is the first part of a planned trilogy set in the Astraverse, a cinematic universe created by Ayan Mukerji.

The film stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The story revolves around Shiva, a DJ who discovers his mystical connection to fire and his power to awaken the Brahmastra, a legendary weapon that holds the power to destroy the universe.
