Jr NTR recently opened up about how audiences approach films these days, expressing concern over the growing tendency to overanalyse movies.
Despite the success of Devara Part 1, which has earned an impressive Rs 466 crore globally, the actor feels that people are becoming too critical of films instead of simply enjoying them for what they are.
Jr NTR Feels Today’s Audience JUDGES Films Too Harshly
In an interview with India Today, Jr NTR reflected on how the audience’s mindset has changed. He shared his thoughts and said, “We, as an audience, have become very negative these days. We are not able to enjoy a film in an innocent manner anymore.”
He compared this to how children view films, explaining that when watching movies with his own kids, they watch with pure joy, free from any analysis or judgement.
“I wonder why we are not able to be that innocent anymore? Every film today, we are watching it to analyse. We are all constantly judging, analysing, and overthinking about films,” he added.
Jr NTR went on to say that the increasing exposure to cinema may be contributing to this shift. He acknowledged that the way audiences engage with films might just be part of a larger cycle. However, the actor remains hopeful that this phase will pass, and people will eventually return to enjoying films without overthinking.
This perspective from Jr NTR comes at an interesting time, as Devara Part 1 continues to dominate the box office.
About NTR’s Devara Part 1
Directed by Koratala Siva, the film stars Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor. The story is set in a coastal town, where power struggles and shifting loyalties fuel the dramatic tension.
Jr NTR plays dual roles in the film, portraying both Devara and Varadha. His characters are central to the film’s plot, which focuses on fierce rivalry and intense action sequences.
The trailer for Devara Part 1 also drew attention, with its gripping portrayal of a battle between Jr NTR’s character and Saif Ali Khan’s Bhaira, a wrestling master. The two-minute and 39-second teaser sets up a story filled with conflict, strategy, and high-stakes drama, with Bhaira’s seemingly unstoppable reign being challenged.
Devara Part 1 marks a reunion between Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva, who previously worked together on Janatha Garage. The film is produced by Kosaraju Hari Krishna and Sudhakar Mikkilineni, under the banners of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts, and is presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
