Ayushman Khurrana & Kareena Kapoor Paired Up For The First Time
As per the latest updates, both Ayushmann Khurrana and Kareena Kapoor Khan have agreed to share screen space in Daayra, a high-drama film directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Junglee Pictures. This collaboration is particularly exciting as these two actors will be working together for the very first time.
The Film Is Based On 2019 Hyderabad Rape Case
Meghna Gulzar has locked her new script featuring Kareena and Ayushmann. Reports suggest that the film is based on the harrowing 2019 Hyderabad rape case, aiming to bring this powerful and sensitive story to the big screen. The filmmaker plans to start shooting by the end of this year, with a release slated for 2025.
A source told Pinkvilla, “It’s a hard-hitting film that warrants the presence of actors with the calibre of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan & Ayushmann To Begin Shooting By 2024-End
Although both actors have agreed to the film, the final paperwork is expected to be completed in the next two weeks. “Meghna is looking to take the film on floors by the end of 2024. It will arrive in cinema halls in 2025,” the source added. The filmmakers are committed to presenting the case with utmost sensitivity.
On the professional front, Ayushmann Khurrana is reported to star in Dharma Productions’ next film alongside Sara Ali Khan. Additionally, he is allegedly collaborating with South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a Dinesh Vijan film, which is said to be a vampire movie under Maddock Films’ supernatural universe. Kareena Kapoor Khan, meanwhile, was last seen in Crew and recently made headlines for exiting Yash’s Toxic.
