Fans were particularly impressed with Akshay’s rugged and intense appearance, and the music teased in the background adds to the excitement.
The film, directed by National award-winning director Sudha Kongara, is set against the backdrop of start-ups and aviation, with a powerful narrative designed to inspire people to chase their dreams. Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of a person daring to dream big has already impressed fans and is called his most compelling role.
Sarfira Was Announced In 2021
The film was officially announced in July 2021 under the tentative title Project 1, as it was the maiden venture of 2D Entertainment in Hindi. The official title was announced in February 2024, and principal photography commenced in April 2022.
Ajay Devgn, John Abraham & Hrithik Roshan Were Considered For Akshay’s Role Initially
It is known that actors Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, and Hrithik Roshan were also considered for the role played by Suriya in the original. However, Akshay Kumar was finalised later based on availability.
In August, the co-producer of the original film, Sikhya Entertainment, approached the Madras High Court as the production house was initially supposed to co-produce the remake along with 2D Entertainment. However, the latter sold the rights to Abundantia Entertainment without the former’s consent.
By early September, the case was closed, with Sikhya Entertainment not involved in the production side. Akshay Kumar was announced on April 25, 2022, to reprise the role played by Suriya.
In addition to Sarfira, Akshay is poised to deliver back-to-back releases including Khel Khel Mein, Sky Force, Welcome to the Jungle, Kannappa, and Jolly LLB 3 among others. The year is set to be a fulfilling one for Bollywood’s Khiladi fans.
