Akshay Kumar and others recently took to social media to thank him for recognising the freedom fighter’s courage as his story is the core of their upcoming film.
Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar And Ananya Panday Thank PM Modi
Akshay Kumar plays the lead role in Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. He shared a video of PM Modi’s speech on X, where the PM praised Nair for taking a stand against the British after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Akshay thanked the PM for remembering the freedom hero. He wrote that younger generations need to know about the brave men and women who fought for India’s freedom. He also said the film is their way of reminding people not to take that freedom for granted.
Producer Karan Johar also shared his thoughts online. He appreciated PM Modi for highlighting unsung heroes like Sankaran Nair. Karan wrote that the lawyer’s story has remained unknown to most Indians. He hopes the film will help people learn about this powerful chapter in India’s freedom fight.

Ananya Panday called it a simple tribute and said that the film aims to remind everyone about the value of freedom.

What PM Modi Said In His Recent Speech
In his Haryana speech, PM Modi recalled that Baisakhi marks 106 years since the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He said not many know Sankaran Nair’s name, but his actions deserve attention. Modi shared that Nair was a respected lawyer who held a top position in the British government. Despite the power and luxury that came with the role, he gave it all up to fight for justice.
Modi spoke about how Nair, though from Kerala, chose to fight a case related to a massacre that took place in Punjab. He described how Nair’s bold move shook the foundations of the British Empire.
