Mumbai Police have shared a new update on the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case. They filed a massive 1,000-page chargesheet, and it includes a few shocking twists.
Out of 20 fingerprints found at Saif’s Bandra apartment, only one matches the accused, Shariful Islam.
Only 1 Fingerprint Matches Accused Shariful Islam
According to media reports, cops found this single print on the eighth floor, where the attack happened. The other 19 fingerprints don’t match him. But the police don’t see that as a major problem.
They explained that fingerprints aren’t the main focus in this case. Many people, like staff and visitors, move in and out of the apartment. So, finding random fingerprints wasn’t surprising to them.
The cops are relying more on facial recognition and forensic evidence. They say this technology links Shariful directly to the crime. Sources say CCTV footage and other tech support the case strongly.
About Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Incident
The incident took place on January 16. Saif was reportedly stabbed during a robbery at his home. He suffered several injuries and was admitted to Lilavati Hospital. Doctors performed surgeries and kept him under observation. He was discharged after recovery.
Police acted fast after the attack. They arrested Shariful Islam and started digging deeper. They found that he had possibly studied the house layout before the incident. The chargesheet also says he picked a time to avoid getting caught by security or staff.
There’s still confusion over whether the stabbing was planned in advance or if it just happened in the moment. The police haven’t confirmed that part yet. Even with just one fingerprint, the police seem confident. They believe their mix of forensic clues and facial recognition will prove the case in court.
The investigation is still going on, and more hearings will follow soon.
Talking about Saif’s professional front, he is all set to star in a Netflix heist film, Jewel Thief. It will start streaming on OTT from April 25.
