Akshay Kumar made headlines on Thursday morning with a visit to the iconic Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai. The visit comes just days before the release of his highly anticipated film Khel Khel Mein.
During his time at the dargah, Akshay not only offered prayers but also made a significant donation of Rs 1.21 crore towards the renovation of the historic site. The actor was accompanied by director Mudassar Aziz, who is at the helm of Khel Khel Mein.

Photos and videos of Akshay’s visit quickly went viral, showing him in deep conversation with the authorities at the mosque. The gesture of donating towards the renovation was widely appreciated.

Mohammad Ahmed Taher, the Administrative Officer of Haji Ali Trust, shared his thoughts on the actor’s contribution. “With the Haji Ali Dargah’s renovation underway, Padmashri Akshay Kumar, a true Mumbaikar, was the quickest to respond with great warmth and devotion,” he said in a statement reported by India Today.
“On Thursday, he generously took responsibility for a section of the renovation expenses, amounting to Rs 1,21,00,000.”
Taher further added, “He was warmly received by Mr Suhail Khandwani, Managing Trustee of Haji Ali Dargah Trust and Mahim Dargah Trust along with his team. We offer our prayers for the departed souls of his parents, Late Aruna Bhatia and Late Hari Om Bhatia, and express our deepest gratitude to him. We also pray for our country’s prosperity and that peace and harmony prevail.”
Khel Khel Mein Actor Recently Hosted Langar At Home
This visit follows another charitable act by Akshay, where he was seen hosting a langar at his home. A video from the event showed the actor distributing food to those in need, wearing a cap and mask in an attempt to remain incognito. However, fans quickly recognised him, and the video of his kind gesture went viral on social media.
This isn’t the first time Akshay has made a generous donation to a religious site. He previously donated Rs 3 crore towards the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, further solidifying his reputation for giving back to the community.
As the release date for Khel Khel Mein approaches, Akshay is gearing up for what promises to be a major hit.
