Dubai Schedule Cancelled Due To Safety Concerns
The makers of King have cancelled the planned Dubai shoot, which was to feature a large-scale desert action sequence involving Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Anil Kapoor. The decision was taken in light of the current instability in the region, with the team prioritising the safety of cast and crew despite having secured all necessary permissions for the schedule.
The sequence was expected to be one of the film’s key action highlights, designed on a grand scale with international coordination. However, instead of delaying the shoot, the production has opted for an alternative approach.
Desert Sequence To Be Recreated In Mumbai
Following the cancellation, the makers have decided to recreate the Dubai desert setting in Mumbai. A large-scale set is being constructed at a studio in Vile Parle, where the action sequence will now be filmed.
This shift allows the production to stay on schedule while maintaining the intended visual scale of the sequence. The film has already been mounted as a high-budget action spectacle, and the decision reflects the team’s intent to avoid disruptions while ensuring creative continuity.
King has been in production since 2025, with multiple schedules across Mumbai and Europe already completed. The film is being positioned as a large-scale theatrical actioner with international appeal.
