King: Shah Rukh Khan Gears Up For A Massive Mumbai Action Schedule With Siddharth Anand, 19 Russian Fighters For Raw And Close Combat Sequence

Shah Rukh Khan’s King is moving into one of its most ambitious stretches yet, with director Siddharth Anand mounting a major action schedule in Mumbai. After the film generated strong curiosity for bringing together Khan, Suhana Khan and a packed ensemble, the latest production move makes it clear that the makers are building King as a full-scale theatrical event.

The new schedule unfolds at Golden Tobacco Studios in Vile Parle, where the team has built a set designed like an old, abandoned mill. Shooting begins on March 23 and runs for about a week, with Khan filming an intense hand-to-hand combat sequence crafted to match the film’s gritty action tone.

A Big Mumbai Action Push For King

What gives this schedule extra weight is the scale of physical preparation behind it. Siddharth Anand has flown in 19 Russian fighters for the sequence, signalling that King is leaning heavily into a grounded but muscular action style. The fight block is being staged as a raw, close-combat set-piece rather than a purely stylised action flourish, adding another layer of intrigue to a film that is already one of the most watched Hindi projects in production.

King is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, with Siddharth Anand directing after earlier development shifts. The cast includes Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Rani Mukerji in a special appearance. The film is set for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.

The production is also preparing a major dance number for a later leg, giving the film both the hard-edged action scale and the glossy mainstream packaging associated with big-screen Shah Rukh Khan entertainers. That balance is precisely what makes this schedule notable. It is not just another shoot update, but a clearer glimpse of the film’s commercial ambition.

Why King Matters In Shah Rukh Khan’s Current Run

King arrives at a crucial moment in Shah Rukh Khan’s career. In 2023, he delivered Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, a three-film run that reminded the industry of his unmatched ability to turn releases into cultural events. Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand and co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, was a blockbuster that re-established him as a commanding action star. Jawan, directed by Atlee and co-starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, followed with even bigger box office momentum. Then came Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki with Taapsee Pannu, which let him pivot into a more emotional, character-led space.

That is what makes King especially significant now. It reunites him with the sleek action grammar of Anand, places him in a fresh on-screen equation with Suhana Khan, and gives his next theatrical chapter a distinctly large-scale identity. With this Mumbai schedule, King is no longer just a title that carries curiosity. It is shaping up as Shah Rukh Khan’s next major big-screen statement.
