Shah Rukh Khan starrer King has been making headlines for the past few days. While fans were hoping for a Deepika Padukone and SRK reunion, director Siddharth Anand stepped in and cleared the air. He took to social media and called the news ‘false’, putting the rumours to rest.
Sonam Bajwa To Have An Extended Cameo In King?
But the latest update has brought in a new excitement. According to sources, Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa will feature in King alongside SRK. This will be her first time featuring opposite SRK. She’s not playing the lead, but her role is being called an ‘extended cameo’ with strong screen time.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Sonam is a superstar of Punjab and is all set to make her debut with Shah Rukh Khan in King. The actress is doing multiple films—from Housefull 5 to Baaghi 4—but King is set to be her biggest till date.”
The makers haven’t revealed her character details yet. Still, the buzz is building. Fans are eager to see how her role fits into this revenge-filled action drama that’s loaded with emotions and thrills.
SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan will also star in the film. This will be her first big-screen role after her OTT debut. Abhishek Bachchan is playing the main villain, and Munjya star Abhay Verma also joins the cast in a strong role.
Reason Behind Deepika Not Being Cast In King
Recent reports also claimed that the shoot has been delayed by a month with the first schedule planned in India. Siddharth Anand (known for Pathaan and War) is directing the film. King promises to be full of action and star power with a strong cast and a large-scale production.
If you’re wondering why Deepika Padukone isn’t part of this project, sources say Aditya Chopra wants to save the SRK-Deepika duo for Pathaan 2. That’s likely why the team is bringing in Sonam Bajwa for a fresh pairing.
