When was the last time we saw two high-caliber performers like Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi in the same film? It was way back in Kurbaan (2009). But even before that, the two starred in the highly acclaimed and cult-classic film, Omkara (2006) as well as the horror film, Darna Mana Hai (2003).
So it has been about 14 years since the two shared the screen. Now, that wait is finally over as Vivek Oberoi has joined Saif Ali Khan in his new project that’s said to be all about action.
Vivek Oberoi Joins Saif Ali Khan In Siddharth Anand Film
Siddharth Anand is having a great year with Pathaan becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film ever. His upcoming projects, Fighter and Tiger vs Pathaan are also predicted to be huge hits. But these aren’t the only projects he’s busy with. The man of the hour is collaborating with Saif Ali Khan after 16 years in an all-out action film.
The last time the two worked together was in Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum. Now, Vivek Oberoi has also joined the new project. Our sources tell us that it will shoot in December in New York. It’s not yet known which role he will play in the franchise. So, it’s possible that he will play the villain or maybe a supporting character as well. Time will tell whether Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi will join hands or face off against each other on-screen.
Saif Ali Khan’s Film Could Be Expanded Into A Franchise
This time Siddharth Anand won’t direct the film, he will instead produce it under his company Marflix Productions. This time one of his assistant directors will be in charge of making the movie. As for the project itself, it’s said to have a huge scale, and there are plans to turn it into a franchise if everything goes well.
There’s speculation that Anand and Khan are bringing something like Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. The makers also haven’t revealed the title of the film, but it’s reported that it will be about a rescue operation led by Saif Ali Khan’s character.
The film will be available on Netflix, and it will mark Khan’s return to the streamer since Sacred Games. More information is awaited on Anand and Khan’s new film.
