In a fascinating turn of events, producer Madhu Mantena has secured the rights to create his own adaptation of the epic Indian mythological tale, Ramayana. While he had previously exited the ongoing Ramayana project, Madhu Mantena’s compensation of Rs 80 crore has kept the door open for his future endeavors.

As per a report in ETimes, Madhu definitely has the right to make Ramayana after Nitesh Tiwari‘s version is done. A source said, “Madhu has the rights to make Ramayana after the present Ramayana is completed.”
Earlier, Madhu Mantena and DNEG virtual production were making the present Ramayana, but the former exited after the cost of production didn’t seem feasible for him. However, Madhu Mantena’s rights remain intact, allowing him to explore his vision of this timeless saga.
Production delays on Ramayana
Meanwhile, the production of the movie ‘Ramayana‘ encountered delays last month due to costume adjustments. But now, the team has taken a significant step forward by conducting look tests with new outfits at Film City. Auditions were also held for body doubles, with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash set to portray Lord Ram and Raavan, respectively. These meticulous preparations mark the beginning of the shoot, which recently commenced.

As filming unfolds, the team is gearing up for an intense and captivating schedule ahead. The ambitious project is planned as a trilogy, promising an epic cinematic experience for the audience. The first installment is scheduled to release in 2025.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the body doubles will be called in throughout the week to film stunts against the green screen. Extras have also been summoned to prepare for crowd sequences. In the coming days, the team will shoot numerous elaborate scenes featuring a crowd, ensuring meticulous attention to detail for director Nitesh’s magnum opus.
