Ajay Devgn is one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood. In his long and successful three-decade career, he has been a part of some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful films of all time. One of his most awaited films has to be the period sports drama Maidaan, which has been stuck for so long. But now finally trailer is out.
Smashing Maidaan Trailer Is Out
Trailer of Ajay Devgn’s awaited film Maidaan is finally out. It showcases Ajay Devgn with bunch of players and incredible chapter of India’s sporting history.
A special launch event was organised in Mumbai to unveil the trailer. It was attended by the film’s lead cast – Ajay Devgn and Priyamani – and Boney Kapoor. Director Amit Sharma and the rest of the cast were also in attendance and they dressed like their characters and posed with footballs.

About Maidaan
Ajay would be essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim to tell the story of this unsung hero who was responsible for taking Indian football to new heights and winning accolades for the country. The team at that time comprised of illustrious players like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco, and Arun Ghosh.
Talking about the film, producer Boney Kapoor had earlier said, “I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He’s an unsung hero whose achievements must be saluted. His team had heroes like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco, and Arun Ghosh. It takes someone like Ajay Devgn to play Syed Abdul Rahim. With him on board, I can just hope that our film inspires youngsters to play football and India soon to bring the World Cup home.” The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
The film will clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s upcoming film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is all set to release on Eid. Meanwhile, Ajay will soon be seen in the supernatural film Shaitaan. It will be released in cinemas on tomorrow on March 8 this year.
Maidaan Trailer To Be Attached With Shaitaan
As per reports in ETimes, trailer of the film Maidaan is out and there will be a grand launch event. Source also informed that trailer of the film will be attached with another Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan which will be releasing in cinemas on 8th March.
This year will see mutually releases of Ajay Devgn as after these two films, he will also see Raid 2, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Singham Again.
About Maidaan
Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and backed by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios. The film stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and will focus on India’s golden football period between 1952–1962. Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh also appear in supporting roles. The film was initially slated to release on 23 June this year but was again postponed. However, now people are hopeful that it will finally see the light of day after multiple delays.
