G5A’s Cinema House in Mumbai is organising a three-day retrospective to celebrate Mani Ratnam’s 40-year career in filmmaking. The event, co-curated by filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, will run from January 24 to 26, showcasing seven of Ratnam’s most notable films.
The retrospective will provide an in-depth look at Ratnam’s work through the lens of his collaborations with renowned cinematographers such as Ravi K. Chandran, Ravi Varman, Rajiv Menon, and Santosh Sivan.

The event will span Ratnam’s long career, which includes films in five different languages. Over the course of his career, he has directed 28 films that have influenced Indian cinema. The retrospective will allow attendees to see how his visual storytelling evolved over the years.

The event will take place at G5A Cinema House, located in Mahalaxmi. This venue regularly hosts events focused on independent and experimental art. It is part of G5A Warehouse, which works to encourage creative thinking and cultural change through various artistic programmes.
