In an interview with IANS, Janhvi Kapoor shared her thoughts on her role in the film. “I believe that all the characters that I have played till date, among them, I think the ‘chulbulapan (vivacious)’ character I haven’t got a chance to do that yet. All the characters have been very innocent and kind. But in Mr & Mrs Mahi, we had decided from the start that Mahima’s character would be very funny and strong. I hope you will feel the same even after watching this film.”
About Mr & Mrs Mahi
Mr & Mrs Mahi, directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, centres around an arranged marriage that brings together Mahendra, a former cricketer, and Mahima, a doctor. Both share the nickname Mahi, reminiscent of the legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The couple soon finds a shared love for cricket. Mahendra recognises Mahima’s cricket talent when he sees her hitting tennis ball sixes and encourages her to chase her cricketing dreams. With his support, Mahima decides to leave her medical career and pursue cricket full-time.
The film features a strong supporting cast including Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, and Zarina Wahab. This project marks the second collaboration between Janhvi Kapoor and director Sharan Sharma, as well as the second time Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have worked together, their previous collaboration being the film Roohi.
