Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer Nadaaniyan is set to premiere on Netflix on March 7. The makers dropped an announcement video that has already sparked nostalgia and debate, thanks to a playful revamp of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’s iconic “Pyaar Dosti Hai” scene.
Nadaaniyan Release Date Announced With Nostalgic Twist
In the promo, Archana Puran Singh reprises her role as the charming Miss Braganza (now in a new classroom setting). She asks the students, “What is love?”
Khushi Kapoor (Pia Jai Singh) hesitates to answer. However, Ibrahim Ali Khan’s character Arjun Mehta confidently delivers a modern twist: “Pyaar Ek Arrangement Hai” (Love is an arrangement).
Sharing the video, the makers wrote, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai aisi Nadaaniyan dekh kar. Watch Nadaaniyan, out 7 March, only on Netflix!”
About The Film
Directed by Shauna Gautam, Nadaaniyan is backed by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment. The film features a strong supporting cast, including Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj.
Ahead of the release date reveal, Netflix dropped two songs from the film- – “Ishq Mein” and “Galatfehmi.” However, both tracks failed to create a lasting impact.
Nadaaniyan marks Ibrahim Ali Khan’s official entry into Bollywood. He has already wrapped up Sarzameen, a film with Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Ibrahim is also working on Diler, directed by Kunal Deshmukh under Maddock Films. However, Nadaaniyan will serve as his first major on-screen debut.
Talking about Khushi Kapoor, she is looking to redeem herself after the underwhelming box-office performance of Loveyapa. The film also starred Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and was a remake of the Tamil hit Love Today. It failed to impress audiences which led to a poor box office run.
