Nawazuddin Siddiqui is gearing up for his big debut as a producer and lead actor at the prestigious Cinequest Film Festival 2025, with his upcoming film, I’m Not An Actor.
The movie, which will mark a major milestone in his career, also has Nawazuddin stepping into new territory. The actor plays a banker who embarks on the journey of learning acting.
Speaking about the unique role, Nawazuddin said, “The idea of me playing a banker who learns acting was exciting from the start. I’d never heard of a script like this.”
The film’s director, Aditya, delves deep into the craft of acting, which intrigued Nawazuddin. “It seemed like the right kind of script to come on board with,” he added.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui Remembers Shooting For The Film In Freezing 2 Degrees
The shooting of I’m Not An Actor took Nawazuddin to multiple international locations, including freezing conditions in Frankfurt, where the temperature dropped to a chilling 2°C.
Speaking about the challenging shoot conditions, Nawazuddin recalled, “While I was freezing at 2 degrees [in Frankfurt], in India sometimes due to extreme heat the cameras would overheat, and we’d have to stop shooting for hours.”
The film’s intercontinental shooting approach alternated between freezing and scorching temperatures & put the team to the test.

The actor, known for his impeccable performances in critically acclaimed films like Monsoon Shootout, Miss Lovely, and Manto, continues to raise the bar for himself in every project he takes on.

Remarkably, Nawazuddin holds the unique distinction of being the only actor in the world to have had eight films officially selected and screened at the Film Festival Junction.
