Ayushmann Khurrana, the versatile actor who has impressed the audience with his unconventional roles and quirky humour, is back with another comedy film, Dream Girl 2. The film is a sequel to the 2019 hit Dream Girl, where Ayushmann played a man who pretends to be a woman on phone calls and attracts a lot of admirers.
In Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann takes his avatar as Pooja to another level. This time, he not only voices Pooja but also crossdresses as her. He once again fools a lot of men with his charm and wit, including the legendary actor Jeetendra.
In a new promo of the film, released by Ayushman on his Instagram account, we see Jeetendra and Pooja engaging in a flirtatious banter. Jeetendra praises Pooja’s beauty and elegance and asks her when they can meet. Pooja tells him to check with the concerned team and Jeetendra replies with a witty remark that has us in splits.
The promo is a testimony to the fact that the humour quotient of the film is going to be superlative. The film also stars Ananya Panday as Ayushmann’s love interest, along with a stellar ensemble cast of Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Ranjan Raj, Manoj Joshi, and Annu Kapoor.
Dream Girl 2 is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The film is slated to release on August 25, 2023. The trailer of the film has already received a lot of positive response from the fans and critics alike. The film promises to be a laugh riot with a social message on gender identity and acceptance.
