Nikitin Dheer, known for his villainous roles in blockbuster films, has worked with Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, he opened up about the differences between the two superstar Khans and their unique approaches to acting.
Nikitin has shared the screen with SRK in Chennai Express, Salman in Dabangg 2 and Antim, and also with Akshay Kumar in Housefull 3 and Sooryavanshi. When asked about the two Khans, he noted their distinct styles.
Nikitin Dheer Says Shah Rukh Khan Loves To Rehearse, Calls Him ‘Mind-Blowing’ In Action
Talking about the difference between SRK and Salman, he stated, “Shah sir loves to rehearse. He’s all about practice and precision,” said Dheer. In contrast, Salman is more about going with the flow. “With Salman bhai, it’s all instinctive. Many times during action scenes, I’d suggest something, and he’d be like, ‘Kar na, tu maar (You do it, hit me).’ Their approaches are different but equally effective.”
Dheer had high praise for SRK’s action skills, calling him “mind-blowing”. He recounted, “Shah sir has this unique way of falling, probably from his football days. He’s outstanding. Even with a broken shoulder, he can fall and stop himself just before hitting the ground. That’s real skill. Shooting that in slow motion, you can see how difficult it is. It’s incredible.”
Talking about his experience with Salman, Dheer described him as magnanimous and instinctive. “A lot of things with Salman bhai are spur-of-the-moment. During action scenes, I’d often discuss ideas with him. He’s always open to trying new things and makes it look natural.”
On Working With Other Bollywood Biggies Like Akshay Kumar & Ajay Devgn
Nikitin, son of veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, also mentioned the security and humility of Bollywood’s big stars. He believes this is why they remain at the top. “Actors like SRK, Salman, Akshay, and Ajay Devgn are superstars because they are secure in their status. They’ve treated me like a kid, with humility and respect. Salman bhai has known me since I was a child, and Akshay sir’s first films were with my dad. Ajay sir was also a familiar face during my childhood. These guys are relaxed and secure, which is why they are where they are today. They even share their lines with co-stars, showing their confidence.”
Nikitin’s last appearance was in Rohit Shetty’s web series debut, Indian Police Force, alongside Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, Shilpa Shetty, and others.
