Confirmed: NTR To Play Lord Kumara Swamy In Mythological Magnum Opus Directed By Trivikram Srinivas

NTR will portray the divine character of Lord Kumara Swamy in an upcoming mythological film directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Harika Hassine Creations.
The Mythological Renaissance in Indian Cinema Is Gaining Traction

And now, Man of the Masses NTR will join the action in a gargantuan way. NTR will portray Lord Kumara Swamy in a forthcoming wild-action, mythological movie directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

It appears the film will be produced at a HEROIC scale by Harika Hassine Creations, which has produced some of the best-looking Telugu films over the last decade.

AN EPIC & DIVINE COLLABORATION: NTR x Trivikram Returns With Myth & Power

Sources close to the film revealed it is already in advanced pre-production and that NTR will be ‘stepping into the shoes’ of Lord Kumara Swamy — the revered deity of courage, wisdom, and righteousness according to Hindu mythology.

“Yes, NTR is doing the film with Trivikram, and he will be playing the role of Lord Kumara Swamy. The team is super-excited, and official details will be out very soon,” a source commented.

This project would represent yet another memorable collaboration between NTR and Trivikram, following their previous exploit on Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. And with another mythological element, expectations plume significantly.

Production & Slate: Where It Lies In NTR’s Busy Schedule

The film is being made by S. Radha Krishna (Chinna Babu) and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the notorious Harika Hassine Creations banner. The carnival may not start filming until this fall, but they are keeping mum on visual concept art and casting options.

This adds to an already full calendar for NTR, who is currently preparing for:

  • Devara: Part 2 with Koratala Siva
  • War 2 with Hrithik Roshan
  • Dragon by Brahmastra‘s Ayan Mukerji
  • An unnamed action-comedy with Nelson Dilipkumar

Either way, his mythical approach does stand out, and it should certainly have impact and scale.

Lord Kumara Swamy: A Role of Power & Purity

For those not in the know, Lord Kumara Swamy — aka Kartikeya or Murugan — is venerated mostly in South India and embodies youthful valour, discipline, and divine refuge. It is anticipated that NTR’s character will fuse his massive appeal with devotion to create a cinematic experience grounded in spirituality.

This announcement comes at a moment when Indian mythology is undergoing a full-blown revival, with films such as:

  • Ramayana
  • Kalki 2898 AD
  • The Immortal Ashwatthama

All heading for the box office.

When Is the Official Announcement Coming?

There is no official (poster or video tease) announcement available yet, but speculation in the industry is that a first-look concept motion poster could drop around Vinayaka Chaturthi 2025, as it fits thematically with the mythology of the film.

Box Office Worldwide Verdict

From mass to myth, NTR’s transformation to Lord Kumara Swamy is exactly the bold move Telugu cinema needs. With Trivikram behind the camera and Harika Hassine supporting the vision, this epic could redefine mythological storytelling for Gen Z — and do so with the understanding of the grandeur and vision that fans expect from an actual pan-India superstar.
