Jr NTR fans celebrated wildly on the release day of Devara Part 1. However, chaos broke out when a huge cutout of the star caught fire at the Sudarshan 35 MM theatre in Hyderabad on Friday morning. This incident surprised the crowd that had gathered for the film’s release.
Here’s What Happened
The excited fans had decorated the cutout with garlands. Following Telugu cinema traditions, they set off firecrackers in celebration. But things took a turn when the cutout suddenly caught fire. Videos shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed the flames engulfing the massive cutout.
Reactions from the crowd varied. Some fans were shocked and ran away, while many others pulled out their phones to film the fire and cheered as the cutout burned. A video from a Tollywood public relations officer showed fans gathering, phones raised, to capture the moment.

Luckily, there were no injuries reported. The fire department and local authorities arrived quickly to put out the flames. Initially, there were rumours that the fire was intentional, but sources believe it was likely an accident caused by the firecrackers. The police are investigating the incident.
Jr NTR Thanks Fans As His Film Releases In Theatres
Devara Part 1 is a significant film for Jr NTR, marking his first solo release in six years. His last solo film was Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava in 2018. He was last seen in the hit film RRR alongside Ram Charan in 2022. After the excitement around Devara, Jr NTR thanked his fans and the film team on X.
He expressed, “The day I had been waiting for is finally here… Overwhelmed by your incredible reactions.” He added, “To my fans, witnessing your celebrations for Devara makes me so elated.
