The first glimpse of Peddi is out in the dubbed version, featuring Ram Charan in a rugged, massy avatar. The teaser, which dropped today in Hindi as well, shows him playing a cricketer who lives life on his own terms. The film is set to hit cinemas on March 27 2026.

The teaser opens with Ram walking onto a dusty cricket ground. People cheer as he lights a beedi and delivers a bold one-liner: “I must do whatever I want as long as I’m alive.” The video ends with him hitting a big shot that’s meant to impress.
There’s not much revealed in terms of story, but the visuals and tone suggest a blend of action, sport and raw emotion. Ram Charan looks intense and his unpolished style will be loved by fans. He’s seen with a scarred face, messy hair and holding a cricket bat.
Director Buchi Babu Sana has caught everyone’s attention with the way he’s styled Charan’s character. Many on social media are calling it one of the actor’s most energetic looks in recent years. The teaser’s background score, composed by AR Rahman, adds to that mood. The music is loud, dramatic, and sets the tone for what looks like a stylised, emotional story.
About The Film
The film was initially called RC 16, as it’s Ram’s 16th film. On his 40th birthday, two posters were released — one with Ram looking straight into the camera while smoking a beedi, and another with him gripping a cricket bat. Some viewers have drawn comparisons to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, but others have pointed out that Ram has already played a rural, intense role before in Rangasthalam.
Peddi also stars Janhvi Kapoor, who was last seen in Telugu in Devara: Part 1. Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu are also in key roles. Divyendu makes his Tollywood debut with this film.
The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. R Rathnavelu is handling the camera work. The team began shooting in Hyderabad last year and continues to work on the project.
For now, the teaser gives off a gritty vibe. It mixes cricket with drama and doesn’t try to explain too much. We’ll have to wait and see if the full film brings more depth or sticks with its loud, larger-than-life style.
