Amitabh Bachchan, who was recently hospitalized, is now recuperating and getting better. However, his illness has caused a delay in the shooting of the highly anticipated sci-fi movie, Project K, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan.
The film, which is being directed by Nag Ashwin, is a sci-fi movie that marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Nag Ashwin. The film also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Pawan Kalyan, and Disha Patani.
However, due to Amitabh Bachchan’s illness, the shooting of the film was postponed. Now latest update is that Prabhas and Deepika Padukone both have allocated their Project K dates to other projects, assuring the producers that they will resume shooting after Mr. Bachchan’s recovery.
As reported in another publication, a source informs from Hyderabad, “It is still not clear how long it would take Bachchan saab to resume normal shooting, and the director (Nag Ashwin) and producers (Vyjayanthi Movies) are in no hurry. They are putting no pressure on Bachchan saab to resume shooting. They will wait for as long it takes. But it is unlikely now that Project K will make its January 2024 release date.”
Project K’s Shoot Status
According to producer Ashwini Dutt, the film is almost 70% complete, and both Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan have about a week to ten days of shoot left. The movie was being shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously and will release in multiple languages across the country.
Bachchan saab had resumed shoot about a month back when he shared the photos from the sets. Bachchan was seen dressed in a navy blue formal suit with a homemade sling across his shoulder. Project K’s Release Date
The film was being planned as Jan 2024 release and was expected to be one of the biggest-budgeted entertainers ever made in Indian cinema. It was expected to clash with Mahesh Babu’s next on Makar Sankranti which seems highly unlikely now.
Deepika Padukone has reportedly been paid more than Rs 10 crore for her role in Project K. The Bollywood star has been busy with other projects, including Pathaan, which has become one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. She was also a presenter at the Oscars this year. Meanwhile, Prabhas has been busy with his upcoming film Salaar, which is being directed by Prashanth Neel. The film also stars Shruti Haasan and Madhu Guruswamy.
