Mythri Production, earlier in April, confirmed an upcoming collaboration with Prasanth Varma and Ranveer Singh for a mega-budget project.
An official statement from the team disclosed, “Yes, it’s true that Prasanth approached Ranveer for a film in his cinematic universe. It will be his immediate next project after HanuMan. Ranveer is interested and it’s almost confirmed but nothing is finalised yet.”
The project, later revealed by Pinkvilla as Rakshas was set to commence filming in July 2024 after Ranveer visited Hyderabad for a photoshoot to announce the film. However, plans hit a snag as it was announced that Ranveer Singh would no longer be part of Rakshas. Yes! you read that right.

Ranveer Singh To NOT Collaborate With Prasanth Varma Due To THIS Reason
The duo decided to mutually part ways due to creative differences between Ranveer and Prasanth Varma, as per a source close to the production.
Despite efforts to reconcile, the decision was made to part ways amicably, to collaborate in the future. Prasanth Varma now plans to restart the casting process for Rakshas before moving on to his next project, Jai HanuMan.
Dad-To-Be Ranveer Singh Wants To Focus On Family Amid Busy Schedule
Sources close to Ranveer Singh revealed that the actor is shifting his focus towards family as he prepares to embrace fatherhood in 2024. “He is prioritising family over his hectic film schedule,” the source disclosed. While he has several scripts on the table, his confirmed projects include Don 3 and Shaktimaan, with another film by Aditya Dhar in the writing stage.
Rakshas was anticipated to be a period film set in the Pre-Independence Era, with Ranveer’s character reportedly possessing grey shades. However, with his departure from the project, the future of Rakshas remains uncertain, while fans await updates on Ranveer’s next project.
