Ramayana Mangal Rang Out Now: How Ar Rahman And Ranbir Kapoor Bring Rama And Sita’s Love Story Alive In Five Languages

Ramayana has opened another window into its mythic world, this time through music. Mangal Rang, the new song from Namit Malhotra’s much-awaited epic, is now out in five Indian languages, pairing sweeping visuals with a deeply devotional romantic core centered on Lord Rama and Maa Sita.

The track arrives as one of the film’s biggest musical reveals yet, with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi leading the visual narrative as Rama and Sita. Framed through palaces, wedding imagery and moments from their journey beyond Ayodhya, the song leans into tenderness over spectacle, even as it retains the grand scale that has defined Ramayana’s campaign so far.

Mangal Rang Expands Ramayana’s Emotional World

Composed by A. R. Rahman, Mangal Rang has been released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The Hindi version is sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, while the Tamil version features Abhay Jodhpurkar and Saindhavi. The Telugu version is voiced by Raghav Kaushik and Vaishali Samant, the Kannada version by Armaan Malik and Bela Shende, and the Malayalam version by Naresh Iyer and Amritha Rajan.

Rahman said, “Ramayana is a story that has lived in the hearts of people for generations, and approaching it through music was a very special experience for me. There is a certain purity and tenderness in the relationship between Rama and Sita that I wanted the music to hold on to. With Mangal Rang, I hope listeners feel that warmth and devotion, and find something personal in the melody. Some stories don’t need to be explained; they simply need to be felt.”

Arijit Singh said, “Ramayana is not merely a story or an epic; it is a timeless reflection of life, our inner consciousness and the connection we share with everything around us. The melody of Mangal Rang, composed by A. R. Rahman sir, took me somewhere beyond words, into a space where love blossoms in its purest form.”

What The Song Reveals About The Film

The song also reinforces the film’s visual identity, which has increasingly positioned Ramayana as a large-format retelling designed for theatrical scale. Official film material has already confirmed that the two-part epic is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, and is being mounted for IMAX. The project is produced by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Monster Mind Creations, with Sony Pictures handling global distribution outside India and Dharma Productions distributing across North India’s Hindi-speaking markets.

Part 1 of Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 5, 2026, with Part 2 following in 2027. The film’s music has become a major talking point already, especially with Rahman contributing to a soundtrack attached to one of the year’s most ambitious Indian productions.

For now, Mangal Rang gives audiences the softer, more intimate side of a story that is usually introduced through war, exile and destiny.
