Moviegoers can rejoice as two beloved films featuring popular on-screen pairs are making a grand return to the big screen. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani – RARKPK (2023) and Tamasha (2015) are set to charm audiences once again in theatres.
As per the latest reports, these two films are all set to re-release in cinemas on May 24. The decision to re-release these films strategically taps into the resurgence of theatre-going audiences post-pandemic and the absence of major releases in May 2024.
With both movies featuring beloved star pairings, the re-release is poised to attract not only dedicated fans but also a fresh wave of viewers eager to relish these cinematic gems on the big screen.
About RARKPK And Tamasha
Directed by Karan Johar, RARKPK originally hit screens in July last year, reuniting Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt following their memorable chemistry in films like Gully Boy. The film boasts a stellar supporting cast including veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
RARKPK marked Karan Johar’s directorial comeback after a seven-year hiatus. The film also featured Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog, and Anjali Anand.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Delhi, the film follows the story of Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer Singh), a lively Punjabi lad, and Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt), an intelligent Bengali journalist, whose differing personalities and backgrounds ignite a compelling attraction.

Released in 2015, Tamasha narrates the tale of Ved (Ranbir Kapoor), a carefree wanderer, and Tara (Deepika Padukone), a spirited individual, whose chance encounter during a vacation in Corsica sparks a passionate romance. However, as they return to their realities, they encounter obstacles that jeopardise their bond. The film explores themes of self-discovery, pursuing dreams, and the potency of love.
Marathi Film Ved Is Also Re-Releasing
Marathi film Ved, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’souza, will grace the theatres. Directed by Deshmukh himself, the film unveils the story of Satya (Riteish Deshmukh), who grapples with heartache after his childhood sweetheart, Nisha (Jiya Shankar), departs unexpectedly.
Despite marrying his longtime admirer Shravani (Genelia D’Souza), Satya remains emotionally distant, haunted by memories of Nisha. When Nisha’s orphaned daughter seeks refuge with Satya, he agrees to adopt her, hoping to find closure. Will this decision offer solace or reignite forbidden emotions? Can Shravani’s unwavering love bridge the gap, or will the past continue to cast a shadow?
