About Biwi No. 1
Released in 1999, Biwi No. 1 is a Hindi comedy that revolves around the story of Prem Mehra (Salman Khan), a married man who finds himself attracted to a model, Rupali Walia (Sushmita Sen), leading to an extramarital affair. His wife, Pooja Mehra (Karisma Kapoor), discovers the affair and decides to undergo a transformation to win her husband back. The film explores themes of love, loyalty, and family dynamics in a light-hearted and comedic way.
The film was a massive commercial success, grossing Rs 52.80 crore worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. Biwi No. 1 was also critically acclaimed for its witty screenplay, comedic timing, and standout performances, particularly from Karisma Kapoor and Sushmita Sen.
