The 30th anniversary of Karan Arjun is just around the corner, and fans are excited for the film’s re-release. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the 1995 blockbuster starring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will hit theatres again very soon. People of all ages are looking forward to experiencing this iconic film once more.
The re-release announcement earlier this month sparked a lot of excitement. Since then, the promotional campaign has been in full swing, with a new teaser and trailer keeping the buzz alive. In response to strong demand, full advance bookings for Karan Arjun opened today, on Wednesday, instead of the usual Thursday start for re-releases.
Karan Arjun To Re-Release On 1800 Screens Globally
A source in the exhibition sector revealed that Karan Arjun will be shown on 1,200 screens in India and 600 screens internationally. This large-scale release shows just how much the film is in demand.
Rakesh Roshan shared with Pinkvilla, “The demand is growing, and we will get the final show and screen count by tomorrow evening. In some places, they opened the bookings today, and we received about 20% to 30% inquiries for ticket bookings. That’s a good sign for a re-release.”
It’s A ‘Brand-New’ Release According To Rakesh Roshan
This re-release is more than just a nostalgia trip for the filmmaker; it’s an opportunity to introduce Karan Arjun to a new generation.
He added, “No doubt Karan Arjun is a re-release, but as a filmmaker, I’m also presenting it to a completely new set of audiences – the Gen Zs. They might not have seen the film in theatres or might not have seen it at all. For them, it’s a brand-new film. I’m as curious and excited to know their reactions.”
He continued, “As a director, I’ve never compromised on the quality of my work, and this time, we’ve made some big changes. We’ve upgraded the sound from mono to 5.1 Dolby and done a full-colour correction with digital intermediate (DI). When I watched the film recently during the technical check, I was amazed at the difference these upgrades made.”
As the re-release date approaches, Roshan is excited to see how today’s audience reacts.
He concluded by saying, “I’m already feeling the Friday jitters. I want to see how today’s audience reacts to the film. I spoke to Salman and Shah Rukh before announcing the re-release, and both were thrilled that the film would be celebrated with a re-release on its 30th anniversary. Since then, we’ve posted the teaser and trailer on social media, and the reactions have been very encouraging. I’m sure both of them are getting as many mentions and notifications as I am across platforms.”
Karan Arjun Is set for worldwide release on November 22.
