The docu-series will be available for streaming on Prime Video.
Salman Khan Drops First Look Poster Of Angry Young Men With Release Date
On August 10, Salman Khan unveiled the first look poster of the documentary. The poster showcases the iconic duo, with the title nodding to the famous “angry young man.” This persona was popularised by Amitabh Bachchan by Salim-Javed’s scripts.
Sharing the poster, Salman Khan wrote, “Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar in and as Angry Young Men,” celebrating their remarkable contributions to Indian cinema.

Salman Khan, who is backing the documentary along with Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar, expressed his deep admiration for the screenwriters. He described witnessing his father, Salim Khan, and Javed Akhtar working together as “nothing short of magical.”
Salman highlighted the duo’s impact on cinema, stating, “Their love for cinema redefined heroism for an entire generation, leaving behind a legacy of cult classics.”
The documentary is set to be a tribute to the legendary partnership that shaped Bollywood storytelling. Salman Khan shared his hopes for the project, expressing a wish to see the two collaborate again.
He added, “Angry Young Men is a tribute to their creative brilliance and the profound impact they’ve had on Indian cinema. It’s an insightful journey into the hearts and minds of two superstar writers who changed the landscape of storytelling forever.”
Directed by Namrata Rao, Angry Young Men is produced by Salman Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti. This docu-series marks the first-ever collaboration between Salim Khan’s son, Salman Khan, and Javed Akhtar’s children, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar. If the response is positive, there’s speculation that a feature film on Salim-Javed’s life might follow.
The series promises to include rare footage and personal anecdotes from the golden days of Salim-Javed’s career.
