After delivering a box office smash with Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is ready for his next big move. He’s teaming up with Prabhas for an action-packed cop drama titled Spirit.
According to fresh updates, the film is expected to go on floors in September-October 2025.
Vanga Took 6 Months To Develop The Script, Casting Underway For Spirit
Vanga doesn’t want to make just another cop film. He’s aiming to break the usual format and bring a fresh twist to the genre. As per the source quoted in a Pinkvilla report, he spent more than six months developing the script and turning it into a detailed screenplay. The source also shared that the film goes far beyond a typical police-versus-villain story.
The writing took time, but now the team is almost ready. The casting process has been happening in the background. With most of it now locked, Vanga plans to begin the shoot by September or October next year.
Spirit is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Pranay Reddy Vanga. Prabhas is already on board and seems thrilled about the collaboration. Before stepping into this role, he plans to wrap up key portions of his ongoing films Raja Saab and Fauji.
Prabhas Asked To Go Lean For His Cop Role
The report also revealed that Vanga has asked Prabhas to go for a leaner look for Spirit. The director wants the actor to perform most of the stunts on his own. Prabhas has taken this challenge head-on and is excited to work closely with Vanga’s unique storytelling style.
Meanwhile, the makers are also casting actors from abroad. They are currently in talks with talents from the US and Korea to add an international touch to the film. The casting updates will likely be confirmed in the next couple of months.
If everything goes according to plan, Spirit will release in cinemas in 2027. Once Vanga wraps up this film, he will begin work on Animal Park, the sequel to Animal, with Ranbir Kapoor returning in the lead.
