Sanjay Dutt-Led 2000 Action Thriller Jung To Return to Theatres Ahead of Its 25th Anniversary in May – Check Re-Release Date!

Sanjay Dutt-starrer Jung is set to return to theatres on May 9. It also stars Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty & Aditya Pancholi.

We all can see how strong the trend of re-release is going on in Bollywood. After the success of Rockstar, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Sanam Teri Kasam, another classic is making a comeback. Sanjay Dutt’s 2000 action thriller Jung is set to return to cinemas to mark its 25th anniversary.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Jung was first released on May 12, 2000. Now, Reports reveal that it will hit the big screen again on May 9 –  ahead of its 25th anniversary. 

The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Aditya Pancholi, Raveena Tandon, and Shilpa Shetty. It was produced by Satish Tandon and is still remembered as one of Dutt’s iconic action films.

Fans still recall Dutt’s intense performance as Balli and the hit song “Aaila Re Ladki Mast Mast.” With re-releases becoming a trend, this anniversary screening could bring back nostalgic viewers and introduce the film to a new generation.

More Bollywood Re-Releases Coming Soon

Before Jung, many other classics are returning to theatres. This week, an Aamir Khan film festival will celebrate his 60th birthday with the re-release of his biggest hits. Fans can watch 3 Idiots, Dangal, Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, Dil Chahta Hai, and more.

Next week, Yaariyan (2014) will be re-released, followed by Half Girlfriend (2017) in April. Popular films like Awarapan (2007) and Aashiqui 2 (2013) are also set to return to cinemas.

More About Jung Movie

Jung follows the story of a dedicated police officer whose son needs a bone marrow transplant. The only suitable donor is a criminal who refuses to help because the cop was responsible for his arrest. The film explores justice, revenge, and redemption in an action-packed narrative.

For the unversed, Anurag Kashyap and Abhinav Kashyap co-wrote the film’s script before making their mark in Bollywood.

With Jung back in cinemas, action film lovers have another reason to relive a Bollywood classic. Will this re-release be as successful as others? You will find out in May.
