Sanjeev Kapoor Shares The Story Behind Cutting His Iconic Moustache And Wants Akshay Kumar To Play Him In Biopic, Says ‘Khana Bhi Acha Banate Hain’

Subsequently, the chat between Khanna and Kapoor shifted to the topic of facial hair.

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor made an appearance as a guest on The Icons, a chat show hosted by actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna and posted on Tweak India’s YouTube channel. The duo discussed various topics related to food, and the conversation eventually led to the subject of a possible biopic on Kapoor’s life. Khanna brought up the fact that a film was already being made on the life of renowned chef Tarla Dalal and inquired about who Kapoor would want to portray him in a biopic.

Subsequently, the chat between Khanna and Kapoor shifted to the topic of facial hair, with Khanna disclosing that she had a noticeable moustache during her childhood, and her mother, Dimple Kapadia, would frequently taunt her about it. Khanna shared her experience by saying, “When I was a kid, mother used to tease me because I had an actual moustache. She used to say that ‘muche ho to Nathulaal jaisi warna na ho‘.”

At that time, Sanjeev also attended the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in it’s first season. He stated, “This was first season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. So, first episode I had a fake moustache on and then I took that off. When I took off the moustache, people were so divided.” Twinkle further grilled him, and asked about the reaction of his female fans, and Sanjeev mentioned, “There was a clear divide. Younger audience wanted me without moustache, older wanted me with moustache.”
