Renowned film archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur has garnered attention in the cinema world for his restoration efforts. After successfully restoring Shyam Benegal’s acclaimed movie Manthan (1976), slated for screening at the prestigious 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Dungarpur has turned his attention to another cinematic treasure. This time, it’s director Pradip Krishen’s television film In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones (1989) undergoing restoration.
What sets this restoration apart is its connection to two iconic figures of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan and Manoj Bajpayee. This TV film marks Shah Rukh Khan’s debut on screen and features Manoj Bajpayee in one of his earliest roles.
In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones Might Re-Release This Year
Reports indicate that the restored version of In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones might see a re-release later this year, providing audiences with the chance to relive the early performances of Shah Rukh Khan and Manoj Bajpayee.
Originally aired on television, the film faced challenges due to the loss of its original print. However, copies recorded on Video Cassette Recorders during its broadcast on Doordarshan were in circulation.
Additionally, camera recordings of these VHS tapes found their way onto YouTube, where they remain accessible.
