Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is a global icon with millions of fans worldwide. He is celebrated for his wit and charm both on and off camera.
Among his many admirers is veteran film journalist Anupama Chopra, who recently shared her experiences of interviewing him with Humans of Bombay.
Anupama Chopra RECALLS 1st Interview With SRK
Film journalist and critic Anupama Chopra talked about her experiences interviewing Shah Rukh Khan. Anupama revealed that SRK is her favourite person to interview.
She first interviewed him in the 90s while he was shooting for Ram Jaane. She described how the actor was dressed in a purple suit and a gold necklace, playing the role of a bad guy in the film.
Anupama was struck by Shah Rukh’s unique presence. She said she was trying to figure out what made him different because he was unlike anyone else in the film industry. She noted that even back then, Shah Rukh had a “veneer of arrogance” and a sense of cockiness, despite not yet being the superstar he would become. She recalled one of his quotes: “I know I only have five expressions, but others only have three.”

For those unaware, Anupama Chopra is a renowned film critic who collaborated with Shah Rukh on the book titled King of Bollywood.
She Says Shah Rukh Khan Never Has A BORING Moment
Anupama also shared more insights into what makes Shah Rukh special. She said that during the long interviews for his book, Shah Rukh was never boring. She emphasised that there is never a dull moment with Shah Rukh; you always want to keep listening to him. According to her, this is because Shah Rukh is very smart and doesn’t take his work lightly, yet he can laugh at himself.
She recalled a funny moment involving Shah Rukh, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and director Zoya Akhtar. During the session, Shah Rukh poured Jeff a glass of water. When Jeff thanked him for being so polite, Shah Rukh humorously replied that he only did it because he had a couple of flops.

Talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s work front, the actor is set to shoot for his big-budget film King after the immense success of Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki. His daughter Suhana Khan will also share the screen with him in the Sujoy Ghosh directorial.
