Shah Rukh Khan is expected to join the sets of Jailer 2 during the film’s final schedule, where he will shoot his cameo portions alongside Rajinikanth. The cameo is expected to place him as a close friend to Rajinikanth’s character.
If the shoot falls into place as planned, it will mark Shah Rukh’s second on-screen association with Rajinikanth after Ra.One, in which Rajinikanth made a special appearance as Chitti.
Jailer 2 Release Date Confirmed For June 12, 2026
While there has been chatter about release date changes in recent weeks, Rajinikanth has publicly confirmed that Jailer 2 is slated to hit theatres on June 12, 2026. The sequel is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures.
The film brings back the core Jailer universe, with Ramya Krishnan returning, and also features returning cameo players Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar. Music is once again by Anirudh Ravichander, keeping continuity with the first film’s blockbuster sonic identity.
