Shah Rukh Khan Or Mahesh Babu – Fans Can’t Choose Between Their Voiceovers After New Trailer Of Mufasa: The Lion King Arrives!

Mufasa: The Lion King trailer sparks debate as fans can't decide between Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu's voiceovers for the iconic character.

The new trailer for Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King has fans buzzing, especially over the voiceovers for the iconic character of Mufasa. The prequel, directed by Barry Jenkins, explores Mufasa’s journey from an orphaned cub to the wise leader of the Pride Lands, a story fans of the 1994 classic will recognise.

But this time, there’s a twist. The trailer, which offers a glimpse into Mufasa’s formative years, has sparked a debate between fans of Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu over whose voice is a better fit for the role.

About The Two-Minute Long Mufasa: The Lion King Trailer

The two-minute trailer introduces Mufasa’s backstory, revealing his struggles as a cub separated from his family due to a devastating flood. He’s later found by Taka, a young royal lion, and the two form an unlikely but deep bond.

This relationship leads to Mufasa’s rise to power, all while navigating conflicts and forming connections in the wild. The trailer also teases the adventures and challenges that will shape his future as the revered king of the Pride Lands.

The film is a prequel to The Lion King and explores the origins of Simba’s father, Mufasa. It introduces a young, vulnerable Mufasa, along with Taka (played by Kelvin Harrison Jr) and a colourful group of characters, including Timon and Pumbaa, voiced by Shreyas Talpade and Sanjay Mishra, respectively. The movie promises to offer heartwarming moments, exciting adventures, and a fresh perspective on a classic tale.

Fans Can’t Pick Between Shah Rukh Khan & Mahesh Babu

While the English version of the film has Aaron Pierre voicing Mufasa and Kelvin Harrison Jr as Taka, the Hindi and Telugu versions have stirred much excitement.

Shah Rukh Khan takes on the role of Mufasa in Hindi, while his son Aryan Khan voices Simba. Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu steps into the shoes of Mufasa in the Telugu version, and Tamil actor Arjun Das has been cast for the same role in Tamil.

Fans of both Shah Rukh and Mahesh Babu flooded social media, voicing their opinions on who brought Mufasa to life better. Some praised Shah Rukh’s deep and emotional tone. Others were equally impressed by Mahesh Babu’s commanding presence. But with no clear winner emerging, the debate continues to divide fans online.

The film will be released in India on December 20 in multiple languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
