Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor is on a high after his very successful, Kabir Singh. The actor is being approached by many makers, but he’s being very careful while selecting the project.
Shahid has recently wrapped the sports drama, Jersey which is an official remake of a Telugu film and moved on to work on Raj & DK’s web series for Amazon Prime, for which he shot in Goa from February to April this year.
The latest now is that the actor has nodded for Kahaani and Badla director, Sujoy Ghosh’s next. While the genre of the film is not confirmed, it is being assumed to be a thriller knowing Sujoy’s past films.
“Shahid and Sujoy have been speaking about a potential collaboration for a while now and things seem to have fallen in place. Shahid has liked a script and if all goes as planned, the film will go on floors this year itself,” a source revealed to Pinkvilla.
“Shahid is flooded with multiple offers, and he is being extremely careful about the scripts that he is associating himself with. While the actor wants to do commercial stuff, he is careful that it doesn’t belong to the run-of-the-mill world. After wrapping up the Sujoy Ghosh film, he is expected to move onto the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directed, Karna, which is an epic produced by Ronnie Screwvala,” the source added.

While the shoot dates cannot be confirmed due to ongoing pandemic situation, it is being reported that Shahid will complete Sujoy Ghosh’s thriller before moving on to Om Prakash Mehra’s magnum opus Karna. Sujoy’s film also will be Shahid’s second theaterical release, after Jersey.
As per reports, the actor is also in talks with Karan Johar for two projects and a film produced by Ashwin Varde to portray the character of Chattraprati Shivaji.
