Following the success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is on a roll with a lot of projects in his kitty. The recent update is that the actor has signed an action film backed by Bhushan Kumar and Amar Butala. After the Diwali 2021 release of Jersey, in which he plays an ageing cricketer alongside Mrunal Thakur, the yet-untitled project will primarily be his next foray into the big screen.
A source tells Pinkvilla, “It’s an action thriller and the makers are aiming to take it to the floors around December this year. While the first schedule will take place in India, the team is expected to fly abroad for the following schedules next year.”
For the time being, the director of the action film has been kept a secret. Shahid Kapoor is presently filming a web series for Amazon Prime directed by Raj and DK. The shoot is slated to wrap up in September, after which he will focus on Jersey promotions. He’s also going to work with Sujoy Ghosh on a thriller, that could premiere this year.
Shahid is also apparently working on a Netflix series and is in talks to star in Karna with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The Udta Punjab actor is in talks to play Chattraprati Shivaji in a film directed by Ashwin Varde.
