Shalini Pandey has spoken out after a fake AI-generated topless video featuring her began circulating online, calling the clip “completely fabricated” and warning against the growing misuse of technology to target women. The actor used social media to directly address the video and urge people not to amplify it any further, adding her voice to an increasingly urgent conversation around deepfakes and digital consent.
Shalini Pandey Calls The Video Deeply Disturbing
On Monday, Shalini posted a strongly worded note on Instagram to clarify that the viral clip was not real. She wrote, “I want to address a fake AI-generated video of me that is currently being circulated online. The video is completely fabricated and does not depict me. It is deeply disturbing to see technology being misused in this way to target and harm individuals, especially women.”
The actor did not stop at a denial. She also made a direct appeal to users not to contribute to the spread of the video in any form, whether through forwarding, downloading, or engagement. Her statement underlined how deepfake abuse can rapidly spiral once such content begins travelling across platforms.
She Urged Followers To Report It Immediately
In the same note, Shalini wrote, “I strongly condemn this kind of abuse and believe this kind of misuse of technology should never be normalised. If you come across this video, please do not share, forward, download, or engage with it. Instead, please report it immediately. I request everyone to be responsible and mindful, and help stop its circulation rather than giving it further reach. Thank you!”
Her response was clear, measured and firm, placing the focus not just on the falseness of the clip but on the responsibility of internet users once such material surfaces. The episode also highlights how celebrity women continue to be among the most visible targets of manipulated explicit content online.
The Deepfake Debate Around Public Figures
Shalini is the latest film personality to publicly confront deepfake abuse as AI-generated videos and doctored images continue to raise serious ethical and legal concerns. In recent years, several public figures from the film industry and beyond have faced similar violations, sparking wider calls for stricter accountability and faster reporting mechanisms on digital platforms.
What makes Shalini’s statement stand out is its direct call for people to break the chain of circulation. In cases like these, public denunciation often becomes the first line of defence, especially when fake visual material is designed to look convincing enough to mislead viewers at a glance.
