Siddharth Anand, the director behind blockbusters like Pathaan and War, allegedly took a dig at Telugu producer Naga Vamsi with a now-deleted tweet. This happened amid the tremendous success of Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which has been setting the box office on fire. The tweet has now been removed, but not before it went viral on social media.
A profile on X recently shared Naga Vamsi‘s old comment about Bollywood and asked where the producer is now. The user was referring to Vamsi’s previous statement that Bollywood creates films for Juhu-Bandra. Siddharth Anand replied with just three words: “Somewhere, unable to sleep.” The shade was clear, and the internet loved it. However, the King filmmaker has since deleted the tweet, though screenshots are still trending online.
What Did Naga Vamsi Say About Bollywood?
For those who may not know, Naga Vamsi ridiculed the Hindi film industry last year during a round-table discussion that also featured veteran producer Boney Kapoor. He stated that South Indians have transformed how Bollywood perceives cinema. Vamsi added that Bollywood folks are confined to making films for Bandra and Juhu, and cited Baahubali, RRR, Animal, and Jawan as examples of this shift.

His comments did not go down well with several Bollywood personalities. Akshay Kumar, producer Dinesh Vijan, and filmmaker Sanjay Gupta were among those who criticized Vamsi for his remarks against the Hindi film industry. The controversy created a huge debate about regional cinema versus Bollywood, with opinions divided across the board.
Siddharth Anand’s Subtle Comeback
Siddharth Anand’s deleted tweet appears to be his subtle way of reminding everyone about Dhurandhar‘s massive success. The film has been performing exceptionally well at the box office and is being praised for its intense storytelling and action sequences. With Dhurandhar proving that Bollywood can deliver pan-India hits, Anand’s comment seems like a perfect response to Vamsi’s earlier jab.
Naga Vamsi operates under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and is recognized for co-producing films like Jersey and Lucky Bhasker. Whether he will respond to Anand’s now-deleted tweet remains to be seen.
