The trailer for Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par—which everyone had been looking forward to seeing this week—has been put on hold out of respect for the 26 killed in the recent Pahalgam tragedy, which has shocked the country.
Why is the Trailer Postponed?
As insiders revealed, “The filmmakers up to that point planned for the trailer to drop this week, but during this time of mourning and national tragedy, they chose to put the trailer launch on hold out of respect.” This move on their part has been applauded as strong, thoughtful, and sensitive to the attitude of the nation and the public transition away from such a traumatic national event.
A close source said this week, “Aamir Khan and his team thought it was inappropriate to launch at this time.” It has also been confirmed that the trailer, which was planned for this week, will be postponed until the national tragedy environment is under better control.
Preparations for the trailer launch had already taken place within major exhibition chains and digital platforms, but with the national tragedy, all promotion and marketing have now been halted.

Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by R. S. Prasanna of Aamir Khan Productions and stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh.
This film is marketed as a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, which left an indelible mark with its social message and moving emotional storytelling.
While a new story, this next chapter addresses familiar themes of emotional maturation, childhood perspective, and self-healing. Through the central conflict, we explore a man forced to confront his own inner demons through his interaction with differently-abled children, which similarly drives the emotionality of Taare Zameen Par.

The announcement regarding the new trailer date will be coming soon in the next few weeks, depending on any further developments nationally. The film is still on track for its planned theatrical release on June 20, 2025, and will continue Aamir Khan’s legacy of performance-driven and socially relevant cinema.
