Sky Force: Makers Of Akshay Kumar Starrer Light Up Mumbai Sea Link, Pay Tribute to Bravehearts Ahead Of Republic Day

Sky Force makers lit up the Mumbai Sea Link with a dazzling display, paying tribute to India's bravehearts ahead of Republic Day.

Akshay Kumar‘s new film Sky Force has had an impressive start at the box office, earning Rs 15.30 crore on its opening day. This marks Akshay’s best performance since Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in 2024.

After several films that didn’t do well, Sky Force has given Akshay a much-needed boost. The big question, though, is whether this film can finally turn the tide for him at the box office. It would be interesting to see, but the attention is now on makers’ unique ways of promotions.

Sky Force Makers Celebrate Strong Start At The Box Office

To celebrate the successful opening, the film’s makers pulled out all the stops. They lit up the iconic Mumbai Sea Link with a dazzling display featuring the Sky Force logo and a Republic Day tribute.

This wasn’t just a celebration of the film’s strong start but also a way to honour India’s bravehearts ahead of Republic Day.

The video of the display was shared by Maddock Films, the production company. They wrote, “A tribute to the real story of our bravehearts, shining brightly on Mumbai’s horizon!”

Kodava Community UPSET By Film’s Wrong Portrayal

Although Sky Force had a great opening, it hasn’t escaped controversy. The Kodava community in Karnataka is upset with how Squadron Leader Devayya is portrayed in the film.

They are unhappy that the hero is shown as a Tamilian instead of being depicted as a Kodava from Karnataka’s Coorg region. Tanya, a lawyer from the Kodava community, has raised her concerns on social media, asking for more accurate representation. Her video calling for a truthful portrayal of the hero has gone viral.

The film also stars Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Amar Kaushik, the movie showcases the bravery and sacrifices of India’s military.
